As some of you may know, GM has been partnering up with it's Aussie counterpart in order to boosts its sales without needing new platforms.

The name? Holden. In Australia, the formerly known G8 to the Americans has been in Australia for quite some time. It's the rebadged Holden Commodore. It's a standard v8 RWD car. Now what is the American-made muscle company up to? Their contemplating the NEW Holden Ute. What will it be rebadged as? None other than the Chevrolet El Camino!

What is the El Camino you youngsters may ask? Well, to put it simple, it was a cruck (car with a truck bed) with a v8 in it.

The Commodore a.k.a G8, Ute, and the new Chevrolet Camaro all are sharing GM's new rear wheel drive platform codenamed Zeta. GM officials have also approved the recent rumors to build a new Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo, Pontiac GTO, and an all new (unreleased) Buick model on the  new-and-improved platform.

Will it be a failure to recreate the past, like they tried with the SSR? Only time will tell.
